Blackhawk Last Chance Meet Website

The HOX Last Chance Meet is an open meet hosted by the HOX Swim Team. Swimmers from the region can swim to improve seed times, earn a county time or just have one more splash in the pool. The meet is fast, fun and exciting. 

This is an optional open meet (meaning that any swimmer that would like to swim in it can register). Swimmers can register individually, and choose which events in which they'd like to swim.

Saturday Morning Meet

• Meet Begins @ 9:00am
• Livorna Warm Ups @ 7:45am-8:15am
• Away Team’s Warm Ups @ 8:15am-8:45am
• Meet Theme: Pretty Pretty Princess (tutus, tiaras and crowns)

Immediately following the meet we will be hosting a fun swim for the Junior Dolphins – we encourage the team to stay to cheer our youngest members on!

Following this, we will have our traditional annual last home meet Dolphin Fun Swims and Family Relays!

• Family Relay- We are looking for 6 teams of 4 to battle it out in the family relays. Sign up to secure your spot! Must have a team of 4 to sign up.

• Fun Swim - The final event will be our inner tube fun swim! All swim team members are invited to stay and join in the fun after the meet. Race your teammates in a silly inner tube. No sign up needed. 

Home meet reminders:

- layout of the pool deck: home side is near the entrance and the parking lot, away side is near the baby pool and Head Desk

- behind the blocks is for 15-18 swimmers, coaches and shepherds only, no parents. (If your swimmer cannot get to the blocks themselves (ie younger swimmers) please drop them off and then leave the area right after.)

- To be respectful to the HOA please do not set up personal tents until 6:30pm or later on Friday nights and 3pm on Wednesdays.

- The Baby Pool is always closed and off-limits during meets.

*Swimmers who have been invited to participate in the two day Woodlands Invitational meet received separate communications from our Team Director. Learn more about the Woodlands Meet in their info packet and on their website. Order of Events is available on both their website and in the info packet. Heat Sheets with estimated start times will be posted on both our website and their website.

Clerk of the Course:

• The Woodlands Invitational will be running a traditional style Clerk of the Course, located behind the blocks at the deep end of the pool. Events will be announced and also shared via x/Twitter.
• All 8 & unders must be labeled to enter the clerk.
• Relays: 8 and under relays must have a coach with them to enter the clerk.
• For all events (trials, finals, I.M. and relays) swimmers not seated with their fellow competitors inside the Clerk of the Course area prior to the FIRST heat of their event being released to the blocks will be considered a “no show” and will be scratched by the Clerk.

Team Set-up:

The gates to the pool area will be open at 7am on Saturday morning to allow for team set-up inside the club area. Map is page 15 of the program.

Spectator Viewing:

There will be a combination of Bleachers and Standing Room Only areas around the pool deck. These areas are for viewing only and not for tent set-up.

Parking:

Parking is limited. The lot will be closed for meet officials only. There will be a swimmer drop off zone at the pool entrance, please enter via Conifer Lane and exit Dogwood Lane for drop off.

Kermit's Cafe:

Kermit's Cafe will be open all weekend starting with coffee, breakfast burritos, donuts, and Boichik Bagels in the morning and our grill team will be hard at work during the lunch hours. Please see the menu in the Meet Program for all of the food selections.

Meet Timeline (remember that finals start time is based on when prelims end):

• Pool Area opens at 7 am
• National Anthem 8:55 am
• Saturday Trials 9 am
• Saturday Finals will begin approximately 60 minutes following the end of morning trials
• Medley Relay timed finals will begin immediately following afternoon Finals
• Sunday Trials 9 am
• Sunday Finals will begin approximately 60 minutes following the end of morning trials
• Free Relay timed finals will begin immediately following afternoon Finals
• Meet Awards 4:30 pm (approximately)

The meet will start at 5:00 PM.  Access to the facility begins at 4:00 PM. 

From the host team:

The diving board area of the main pool and the “kiddie splash pool” near the club house will be closed during meet operations.

Each team has been assigned a team location. It is the expectation of both our swim team and the Sycamore HOA that all families from both the home and visiting team clean up their assigned area prior to departing the event. Families are responsible for properly disposing of all trash and collecting their personal belongings. We appreciate your partnership on this!

Home meet reminders:

- Please do not set up personal tents or chairs immediately next to the pool - these areas are meant to be viewing areas for all. The bleachers are included in this. Please come to watch your swimmers swim, then rotate out after their race so that other families can watch their swimmers.
