Disqualification Policy As found in the League Rules and in accordance with USA Swimming rules and regulations, all swimmers including the 6 & under competitors, are expected to properly perform the strokes in which they compete. All stroke & turn rule infractions approved by the referee will cause disqualification. False start violations will also result in disqualification; see the League Rules for further information. Note that the referee will staff ‘take-off’ judges to watch the relay events to ensure fair competition. Coaches will be notified of disqualifications via the announcer. Any question regarding a disqualification will be directed to the head referee. Protest of disqualification must occur within 30 minutes of the Announcer’s call for the team coach. Coaches are the ONLY individuals allowed to protest a disqualification OR make an inquiry into time discrepancies. If necessary, the Meet Director will facilitate any debate regarding a question of disqualification. Sierra Timing will serve as the ‘administrative referee’ to resolve timing disputes. 12 & Under Tech Suits Please familiarize yourself with the USA Swimming rules regarding Tech Suits for swimmers aged 12 and younger. The rules will be enforced at our DCSL Championship Meet, as well as at the Contra Costa County Championship Meet. Refer to USA Swimming for more. All suits will be inspected for acceptability in the Clerk of Course. It is recommended that 12 and under swimmers bring a backup suit in the event their tech suit violates USA Swimming rules. Clerk of the Course All swimmers (with the exception of swimmers in the 15-18 prelim races) are required to check in at the Clerk of the Course located directly behind the pool before their race. Please refer to the General Map for how to access the Clerk of the Course. There will be a girls and a boys Check-in area. The Clerk of the Course area will be shaded to keep the athletes out of direct sunlight. ★Mark your swimmer before Clerk check-in to avoid delays. ★ To reduce congestion at Clerk of Course, all swimmers 10 years of age and under should have their event information (stroke-heat-lane), which can be found in the Meet Program, written on their RIGHT HAND (see example below). All 6 and Under Freestyle swimmers should be to the Clerk of the Course no later than 8:45 AM – before the singing of the National Anthem on Saturday morning. On Sunday, 6 and Under Backstroke swimmers should be to the Clerk of the Course no later than 8:45am before the singing of the National Anthem. Following each race, swimmers will exit the pool area heading south toward the bathrooms and warm up lanes, opposite from where they entered from the clerk of the course. Please have parents or shepherds meet the younger swimmers at this location after their race. |

Practice at Acalanes High School
Acalanes High School 1200 Pleasant Hill Road Lafayette, CA 94549
Start: 9:45 AM
End: 11:00 AM
In lieu of our regular practices this Thursday, July 23rd, we will be having practice at Acalanes High School (the site of our DCSL Championship Meet). This is a great chance for swimmers to get to know the Acalanes pool prior to the meet, as their blocks are different than what we're used to (it is an Olympic sized pool, with deep gutters and slick tiles - we highly recommend taking this chance to get to know the pool!) Acalanes is also the site of the Contra Costa County meet, so a good warm up to the pool for County qualifying swimmers as well! Make sure to wear your Fear the Fin shirts over your suits, and meet Coach Matt in front of the gym (by the parking lot) at 9:45am for an end of season team picture! |
